Challenges
The site had certain negative aspects to it due to the site location. The main issue being it extremely hot and having too harsh solar radiation around the area due to which usually students don't prefer outdoors, secondly the frequent dust storms due to the surrounding barren land around the given plot.
Goals
To design a coherent inclusive campus for students that lets them explore their creativity and innovation. To create more outdoor spaces for students with more shading options and to create sociopetal interactive spaces to encourage social interactions between students.
Solution:
Designed a comfortable student campus to welcome nearly 1,000 students, promoting social activities and helping students thrive. Achieved designing two mid-rise buildings and a dining commons that feature shared social spaces, natural lighting, and open-air connecting walkways. These promote social engagement through living rooms, shared bathrooms that support gender equality, and large communal stairway lounges.
